October Disability History and Culture Calendar Slide Deck is live!
As promised, our new October deck is ready to be viewed and used. It's filled with disability history, notable birthdays, and awareness days for K-5 and 6-12 students, with built-in teacher guidance, discussion prompts, and related books. Pull up a slide during morning meeting, in announcements, or alongside a lesson you're already teaching. Five minutes is all it takes.
More October dates are coming soon. We're taking time to have them reviewed by people with lived experience and expertise in those communities and histories before we add them, so check back as the month goes on.
And keep in mind, the dates are a guide, not a rule. The content is worth sharing any time.
