That's exactly what our new Disability History and Culture Calendar Slide Decks are designed for. The September deck is live now, with the rest of the year on the way. Each deck covers one month filled with disability history, notable birthdays, and awareness days for K-5 and 6-12 students, with built-in teacher guidance, discussion prompts, related books, and more. Five minutes is enough to share a slide and bring disability history and culture into the conversation during morning meeting, in announcements, alongside a lesson you are already teaching, or whenever the moment fits.
The dates are a guide, not a rule. The content is worth sharing any time, whether a date has already passed or hasn't arrived yet.
